Calvin Trillin fancies himself one of the few "deadline poets." He couples rhymes for The Nation magazine to make larger points about current events and world leaders. He's also written about many aspects of American life from the groundbreaking to the obscure. Trillin presented his humorous poems and prose in an appearance at the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, Minn. on June 17, 2006.
