Kerry and Gingrich debate how government should respond to global warming

Sen. John Kerry and Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich
April 13, 2007
Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., agree that human activity is contributing to global warming. They also agree that government should do something about it, but they don't agree on what that response should be. Gingrich and Kerry faced off April 10 in a Lincoln-Douglas style debate on global warming held in Washington and organized by New York University.
