The ethics of the U.S. exit in Iraq
Gerard Powers
January 18, 2008
2008 presidential contenders have debated the U.S. exit from Iraq, but Gerard Powers of Notre Dame University says there's an ethical component to the issue, too. As director of the Joan Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies, Powers says the central moral issue of the war — the nature and extent of U.S. responsibilities to the Iraqi people — is being overlooked. Gerard Powers discussed the ethics of U.S. troop withdrawal in a Jan. 4 speech at the City Club of Cleveland.
